Audiovox was founded in 1965 as a car radio distributer and later went public in 1987. They became a pioneer in the wireless industry, selling vehicle-installed wireless telephones in 1984 as a natural expansion of their automotive aftermarket business.

They operate in two primary markets: Wireless Communications and Consumer Electronics. Our Wireless group, a 75% owned subsidiary (25% owned by Toshiba Corporation), sells wireless handsets and accessories. The Electronics group sells mobile entertainment products and consumer electronics.
